Let’s Succeed Together
Welcome. Our goal is, working together, to create an environment - and the systems to sustain that environment - where EVERYONE can thrive. Parents, educators, students, community members are all best served when our efforts are aligned - to "build humans" inside the context of education.

About Me
I have 32+ years of experiences - in AVID, in the AP classroom, on the volleyball courts as a coach, from my principal's office, to my doctorate. I've counseled children - adults - parents. I've sat with the media, and offered testimony to the state legislature. That experience doesn't mean I've seen it all. On the contrary, it means I know - and feel deeply - that success means creating "the environment" where everyone can thrive. Students have needs, faculty has needs, admin, our communities and the district - they all have needs. We are all humans, working inside "systems" - and when the systems are reconstructed with building humans in mind - they work better for everyone.

Testimonials
What's Being Said
Dr. James,
I am aware that you already know most of this, but it is something that I still need to put out.
You pushed me to want to be a better teacher and a better person every day that I walked into Jerome Mack. You made this school a safe place for me to 'play in the sand' and discover the educator that I wanted to be.
It has been an honor to witness the tremendous impact that you have had on me, the students at Jerome Mack, and our surrounding community.
Forever grateful for the past 8 years,
Mark Arcar, Math Dept. Chair
It would take a thousand pages of words to describe all of the wonderful things that Roxanne James is to me, to education, to kids and ultimately to the world. How do you describe a woman that cares more about the success and well-being of children than anyone I have ever known?
She is all of the things that a teacher is expected to be but she is such a HUMAN being. She is relentless in her compassion, determined in her empathy, and dedicated to the mental survival of children in a world that seems to think less and less of them every day. She is a hero of the most human kind.
Kristin Pohl, Teacher
She's the best dog mom ever! Even if she decided not use "builderofhoomans" like I suggested.
Rigley "doodle bug" James
